Celebration of Academic Excellence

This year's Celebration of Academic Excellence will take place on Thursday, April 17th, 2008 in the Center for the Arts. This event provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to showcase their research and creative activities. While a poster is the most common way to present their work, the event will accommodate all other forms of expression such as readings, films, videos or other media, dance performances, models, structures, etc.

Students who want to participate, need to provide the information requested in the Student Submission Form (in MS Word format) to Stefanos Papazaharias (scp@buffalo.edu) no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, March 17th, 2008.

The timeline of the event on Thursday April 17th, 2008 is as follows:

8:15am-Noon: check in during this window at CFA. Set up poster or display in CFA Atrium at this time

12:15pm-1:30pm: Lunch in CFA Atrium for student researchers and their faculty mentors. Students will receive mementos of their participation at this time.

1:30pm-3:00pm: Students (appropriately dressed) to stand at their displays and discuss their work with the viewing audience.

3:15pm: Students enter CFA Main Stage for start of formal program.

3:30pm-5:00pm: During the formal program students will be asked to stand and be recognized for their outstanding work.

5:00pm-6:00pm: President’s Reception in CFA Atrium. Students and entire academic units are encouraged to use the reception as a chance to take photos with faculty mentors and celebrate in all that has been accomplished over the academic year.
