PLEASE NOTE:
Until the 2008-2009 budget situation has been clarified, funding of this CAS program is suspended. Applications will continue to be accepted. If funds become available, submissions will be considered in the order they were received. We recognize that this creates difficulties for many, and regret being forced to take this action.
Publication Subvention Fund
Awards will be made until funding is exhausted.
Eligible faculty must have no other source of publication support from the College of Arts and Sciences. The publication and dissemination of scholarly and creative works is fundamental to our mission as a research university. To encourage and support this enterprise, the College has established a subvention fund to defray costs directly connected with the publication of a work already accepted by an editor or publisher and not subsidized by royalties. Such costs could include page charges, copyright permissions, or subvention required by the press. The fund may not be used for the purchase of reprints.
To apply for support, a faculty member should submit a curriculum vitae, a brief description of the book, article, or project, a copy of the acceptance letter or publishing contract, and details of the costs. The amount requested must be clearly stated. Supported publications will acknowledge the assistance provided by the College of Arts and Sciences, University at Buffalo.
Application may be made at any time, and awards usually will be determined within 30 days. Do not include original material or receipts. All expenditures must be completed before 30 June 2009.
Applications should be sent to Dr. Lorraine Oak at 810 Clemens Hall, North Campus. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Dr. Oak at 645-2711 or loak@buffalo.edu.
